Highway Project Engineer Position

BETA Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Project Engineer to lead our highway design and project management efforts. This role will play a key part in performing highway design, developing contract plans and documents, and mentoring junior staff. The successful candidate will collaborate across our multiple service areas, assist with business development, project pursuits, and coordinate projects with our clients.

  • Provide technical oversight and mentor junior staff.
  • Collaborate with design team members and provide technical support.
  • Provide client service and assist with proposal pursuits.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • 8 to 15 years of related engineering experience in highway design, stormwater management, ADA compliance, and roadway construction practices.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation OpenRoads Designer.
  • Experience with MUTCD, AASHTO, MassDOT design requirements.
  • Ability to collect field data and measurements, including roadway, sidewalk, and utility assets, and perform asset inspections.
  • Ability to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to perform field work in hot and cold weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Salary Description:

$86,000-$124,000 or commensurate.
