Patient Care Coordinator Float Full Time

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in facilitating the efficient processing and scheduling of patients for our department. Your excellent communication skills will promote a high level of overall satisfaction and quality of care for our patients and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate admitting and clerical duties to ensure seamless patient processing and scheduling.
- Provide exceptional communication with patients and visitors to ensure a positive experience.
- Perform duties in an outpatient location, maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate's/Technical Degree in business, healthcare, or computer science or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Greets, receives, and escorts patients/visitors, notifying necessary personnel of their arrival.
- Answers multiple phone lines and intercom, communicating effectively.
- Provides clerical support for departmental meetings, projects, and activities as needed.
- Completes and forwards required information, charts, records, and documents as requested.
- Maintains department records, reports, and statistics.
- Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of office supplies and equipment.
- Identifies current patient insurance status and benefits.
- Collects co-payments and limits of services for all patients.
- Provides forms to billing and other departments.
- Assists with maintenance of hospital forms.
- Performs various confidential clerical duties, including data entry and filing.
- Helps schedule patient appointments.
- Obtains necessary billing, insurance, and demographic information.
- Reminds patients of preparations needed for examination and confirms appointments.
- Assists in scheduling appointments and making reservations for departmental needs.
- Keeps waiting rooms neat, clean, and organized.
- Communicates with those waiting and monitors panels for alarms.
- Provides coverage and/or assistance when necessary to maintain quality standards.
- Compiles information for reports, manuals, handouts, and meetings as needed.
- Provides clerical support for department meetings and activities.
- Assists with research and provides administrative support to special projects.
