About the Role:

VNS Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Educator to lead clinical education programs in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver program-specific clinical education programs to foster high-quality care through evidence-based practice, performance improvement activities, and professional staff development.
  • Collaborate with Education staff across the enterprise to develop an annual training calendar, ensuring a coordinated approach to ongoing programs.
  • Ensure clinical education programs align with the CMS Triple Aim framework, improving patient experience, population health, and reducing healthcare costs.
  • Identify and communicate protocols and standards of care for diverse patient populations, providing education intervention guidelines based on population health needs.
  • Manage implementation of clinical staff development programs, including orientation, in-services, training, and other learning activities.
  • Ensure all clinical education programs meet standards of nursing and social work practice, state and federal regulations, and VNS Health policies and procedures.
  • Review program-specific educational program outcomes and evaluations to determine areas for improvement and make recommendations for change and/or new programs.
  • Train and/or oversee training of new and current staff in VNS Health/program philosophy, policy, standards, procedures, documentation, models for service delivery, and efficient work processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of newly hired staff and staff referred for remedial or additional training, counseling, disciplining, terminating, or extending probation as needed.
  • Develop education programs, such as workshops and/or group learning activities, to address performance issues and develop performance improvement plans for tenured employees in collaboration with program management.
  • Evaluate competency and performance in conjunction with program management, participating in the development of revised programs and/or materials, communicating ongoing e-learning opportunities, and analyzing course evaluations to implement improvements.
  • Participate in the development of annual clinical education strategic goals and objectives, collaborating with the Quality department in the development and implementation of education-related training programs.
  • Ensure program content is presented in a manner that promotes learning and enables trainees to meet competency requirements, demonstrating services excellence and creating education and training programs centered on VNS Health goals and strategies.

Requirements:

  • Current license and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • CM certification (Certified Care Management) preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent work experience required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum four years of experience in a community-based or long-term home health setting, including at least two years with a primary focus on education and training.
  • Medicare experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, patient care, care coordination, case management, and clinical processes required.
  • Experience assessing and designing clinical education programs preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting in a teaching capacity with an understanding of adult education and learning processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer applications required.
