Education Manager (RN) Job Description

VNS Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Educator to join our team in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled RN Educator to develop and implement clinical education programs that foster high-quality care through evidence-based practice, performance improvement activities, and professional staff development.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver program-specific clinical education programs to ensure staff has current knowledge and competencies to meet program contractual and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with Education staff across the enterprise to develop an annual training calendar and ensure a coordinated approach to ongoing programs.
  • Ensure clinical education programs align with the CMS Triple Aim framework and address patient-centered needs.
  • Identify and communicate protocols and standards of care for a culturally and demographically diverse patient population.
  • Manage implementation of clinical staff development programs, including orientation, in-services, training, and other learning activities.
  • Review program-specific educational program outcomes and program evaluations to determine areas for improvement and make recommendations for change and/or new programs.
  • Train and/or oversee training of new and current staff in VNS Health/program philosophy, policy, standards, procedures, documentation, models for service delivery, and efficient, productive, cost-effective work processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of newly hired staff and staff referred on for remedial or additional training.
  • Develop education programs, such as workshops and/or group learning activities, to address performance issues and develop performance improvement plans for tenured employees.
  • Evaluate competency and performance in conjunction with program management.
  • Participate in the development of revised programs and/or materials, communicate ongoing e-learning opportunities, and evaluate e-learning usage and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Quality department in the development of and implementation of education-related training programs.
Requirements
  • Current license and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • CM certification (Certified Care Management) preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent work experience required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum four years of experience in a community-based or long-term home health setting, including at least two years with a primary focus on education and training.
  • Medicare experience strongly preferred.
