Position Overview

The Kensington Senior Living, LLC is seeking a dedicated Overnight Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide exceptional care to our residents. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our core values: a Love for Seniors, Respect for Each Other, Passion for Excellence, and a Spirit to Serve.

Compensation: $30/hr - $34/hr + $3,000 Sign-on Bonus

Schedule: Overnight shifts from 11 PM to 7 AM, Thursday through Saturday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and assist residents with their prescribed medications, ensuring compliance with individual medication care records.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of medications, monitor expiration dates, and adhere to controlled substance protocols.
  • Evaluate medication administration processes and communicate any concerns regarding dispensing instructions or potential drug interactions to the Director of Nursing.
  • Support the examination and treatment of residents, executing directives from the Director of Nursing or designated personnel.
  • Assist in scheduling physician appointments and ensure accurate documentation of medication orders.
  • Respond to emergency situations with appropriate first aid and CPR as necessary.
  • Ensure all resident records are meticulously maintained, including care notes and incident reports, while upholding confidentiality.
  • Conduct assessments of resident needs and monitor changes in their medical and behavioral conditions.
  • Participate in the planning of resident move-ins, transfers, and discharges.
  • Collaborate effectively with residents, families, staff, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Lead neighborhood team members in executing emergency procedures during drills and real events.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Nursing regarding community and resident conditions.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities as required.
  • Report any suspicions or evidence of elder abuse or neglect as per established policies.
Qualifications
  • Current LPN licensure.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, preferably in retirement living or home care.
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with individuals of all ages.
  • Proficient in reading and writing English, with the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Good physical and mental health, capable of performing assigned duties.
  • Recent health screening confirming freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check in accordance with state regulations.
Mental and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk varying distances.
  • Capability to lift and carry objects exceeding 25 pounds.
  • Significant bending and reaching required.
  • Maintain composure and positivity in high-pressure situations.
