About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team at Condair Group. As a global leader in humidification, dehumidification, and evaporative cooling, we are committed to delivering high-quality products and services to our customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our suppliers meet our quality standards and expectations. This will involve conducting audits, evaluations, and testing to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish audit frequency and specification using established statistical and quality management practices
  • Update our quality management system with incidents, countermeasures, and improvements
  • Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions
  • Support and participate in inspections of product materials for defects and durability
  • Support non-conforming report identification and countermeasure activities
  • Identify the root cause of technical issues and develop countermeasures
  • Prepare various reports related to product quality or test results
  • Review current quality documentation and provide revision or improvement suggestions
  • Set and track quality assurance goals
  • Develop supplier scorecards for quality
  • Support purchasing in sourcing decisions
  • Support administration and application of the PPAP program
  • Perform feasibility studies for facility utilization, expansion, consolidation, or termination
  • Support capital activities related to the quality department
  • Travel up to 50-75% to support various vendors across North America

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar engineering major
  • Demonstrated ability gained through 7 or more years of engineering experience, preferably with 1-5 years of quality engineering or design for manufacturability experience
  • Hands-on experience with quality management systems and testing methodologies
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments
  • General understanding of geometric tolerancing and how to apply it to parts drawings
  • In-depth understanding of technical documentation
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks or Pro-Engineer software experience is a plus
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Ability to react with urgency to achieve objectives and deadlines despite obstacles and time pressures
  • General understanding of manufacturing business principles and typical business practices
