Restaurant Systems Engineer

Job Summary

The Restaurant Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant's technology systems, including Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, inventory management, and labor scheduling. This role will require strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and resolve Help Desk tickets in a timely manner, serving as an escalation point for the Help Desk Team.
  • Manage administrative functions of the POS system, including Simphony, EMV, and KDS.
  • Stay up-to-date on new POS functionality and restaurant business needs, making recommendations for design changes as needed.
  • Support the management of RHGIs Back of House systems and platforms, including labor, inventory, and audit.
  • Provide technical support and ongoing management of restaurant systems integrations.
  • Ensure timely installation of patches and upgrades of restaurant systems and platforms, maintaining PCI requirements.
  • Plan and manage IT infrastructure for new restaurant openings.

Requirements

  • On-call availability.
  • Experience programming and supporting Simphony POS.
  • Experience supporting Back Office Systems.
  • Prior POS project experience, including configuration and deployment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, VPN, LAN/WAN topologies, Active Directory, backups, and disaster recovery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience.
  • 5+ years of restaurant technology experience, including POS, with expert knowledge of Simphony.
  • 2+ years of experience with Windows Server operating systems and hardware.
  • 2+ years of experience with firewalls, routers, and switches.

Physical Demands

  • Required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Infrequent light physical effort required.
  • Ability to travel for new restaurant openings and project deployments.
