Creative Arts Therapy Specialist for Pediatric Patients

Position Overview
The Coordinator of Creative Arts Therapy plays a vital role in delivering artistic therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing the well-being of pediatric patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Deliver comprehensive creative arts therapy services tailored to the emotional, physical, cognitive, social, and communicative needs of pediatric patients and their families.
2.Facilitate creative arts therapy for patients and families during end-of-life care and hospital memorial services in collaboration with the psychosocial support team.
3.Accurately document therapy interventions in patient records promptly, including initial assessments and progress notes.
4.Engage in effective communication with child life professionals and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members regarding clinical care planning and insights gained from therapy sessions.
5.Conduct educational workshops on creative arts therapy within the healthcare facility.
6.Develop and oversee a graduate internship program in creative arts therapy in partnership with local universities and child life leadership.
7.Supervise volunteers and interns who provide music-based interventions and actively participate in clinical group supervision.
8.Maintain accurate statistics on creative arts therapy sessions as part of quality assurance initiatives.
9.Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards in the management and procurement of creative arts therapy resources and during clinical practice.
10.Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant field.
Creative Arts Therapy License to be obtained within the first year of employment.
1-3 years of relevant experience.
