Behavioral Support Consultant

Overview:
Under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Services, the Behavioral Support Consultant will design and oversee the execution of behavior intervention strategies, participate in collaborative meetings, and offer expert assistance with behavioral challenges as required in Shared Living environments.
This role necessitates expertise in delivering behavior analytic and/or therapeutic services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities in their everyday settings.
Ensures adherence to Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations and provides training and support to staff as necessary.Responsibilities:
Provides a comprehensive range of behavior analytic services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities in their natural settings (at varying levels of intensity in accordance with DDS regulations).
Creates, monitors, and assesses thorough functional assessment-based behavior support plans aimed at reducing challenging behaviors and fostering the development of alternative skills.
Assists in the evaluation of potential participants as assigned, ensuring appropriate communication with initial referrals from Case Management or DDS Service Coordinators, and obtaining approval from the Area Director under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services/AVP of Family Services.
Acquaints with and aids in the application of the Seven Hills Foundation Policies & Procedures, the site's Program Specific Policies & Procedures, and the regulations governing the program.
Acts as a role model and provides contextual training to staff within the integrated therapeutic framework.
Engages in activities as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
Encourages the development of individuals by teaching and providing opportunities for choice, empowerment, and the enhancement of behavioral skills as determined.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree accompanied by four years of experience in behavioral intervention.
A Master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, special education, or a related field is preferred.
BCBA or professional licensure is preferred (e.g., LMHC, LICSW).
Professional training and experience in mental health, acquired brain injury, and/or positive behavior support (PBS) is preferred.
Supervised training and experience in delivering comprehensive behavior analytic services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities in their natural environments, including conducting functional behavior assessments and designing, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans.
Knowledge of human development, learning, behavior analysis, positive behavior support, collaborative consultation, and abnormal psychology is essential.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to adapt to various environments.
A valid driver's license, the ability to drive, and reliable transportation are required.
Travel to different locations may be necessary.
