Job Overview

Responsibilities include collaborating with the Regional Field Service Manager to ensure the correct allocation of parts, tools, and personnel. Regular updates regarding job status and any potential delays are communicated to both the customer and the regional manager. Adherence to safety protocols and compliance with JSA and HSE standards is paramount. Comprehensive service reports must be completed and reviewed with the customer daily.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Field Service Technician is accountable for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Executing assignments with minimal oversight while adhering to WPI and OEM standards.
  • Contributing to the professional growth of other technicians.
  • Interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Identifying optimal procedures to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Implementing Waukesha Service Bulletin updates as directed by the manufacturer.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of personal work to ensure compliance with OEM specifications.
  • Exhibiting high productivity levels in job performance.
  • Completing all necessary documentation, including service reports, PM sheets, JSEA, and inspection forms.
  • Maintaining a safe and organized work environment, both on-site and in service vehicles.
  • Performing required preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Conducting lockout/tagout procedures for all assigned tasks.
  • Possessing essential tools for the role, including various wrenches, ratchet and socket sets, and a multimeter.
  • Assisting customers with technical issues as needed.
  • Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience working with industrial engines (natural gas/diesel).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Waukesha certification required, achieved through successful completion of GET, ESM, and one of the following classes: VGF, VHP, or AT.
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurance standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient understanding of OEM equipment and troubleshooting techniques for natural gas engines and compressors.
  • Experience with various tools, including laser alignment equipment and emissions analyzers.
  • Strong grasp of mechanical principles and mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficiency in electrical diagnostics.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of electronic control systems such as PLCs and Murphy panels.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience operating truck cranes.
