Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and emergent imaging procedures to detect pathology
  • Safely operate equipment and maintain standards while performing procedures
  • Provide copies of imaging studies and complete electronic data transmission
  • Inspect equipment and maintain adequate supplies in the work area
  • Document procedures in patient charts and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited sonography program
  • Registered through the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience as a sonographer in an acute care imaging setting
Physical Requirements:

This position requires a mixture of moderate to heavy work. Physical requirements include frequent walking, sitting, and standing, as well as frequent use of the phone, computer, and fax machines.

Mental Demands:

The ability to work at a fast pace, prioritize multiple assignments, and respond to numerous requests is essential. Self-motivation and the ability to exercise self-control in a fast-paced environment are also required.

Confidentiality:

This position requires limited access to the medical record for the purpose of verifying orders and signing off after exam completion.
