Job Summary:The Director of Special Education Programs will be responsible for coordinating and implementing programs for students with exceptional needs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement programs for students with exceptional needs, including Section 504 and special education services.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
- Staff Development and Support: Provide professional development and support for teachers and staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support students with exceptional needs.
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage budgets and resources to ensure effective implementation of special education programs.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze data and provide reports to stakeholders on the effectiveness of special education programs and services.
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid certification in school administration and/or supervision
- Experience in special education, including program development and implementation, staff development, and budgeting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to analyze data and provide reports
