Intercept Health is currently seeking a Full-Time Residential Specialist. The Residential Specialist plays a crucial role in serving as a positive influence for residents. This position involves contributing to the development and execution of resident treatment plans while modeling effective social values, attitudes, and behaviors. The role reports directly to the Program Manager.


Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Service field approved by the Virginia Board of Counseling, OR
  • An Associate's Degree with a minimum of three months of experience working with children, young adults, or individuals involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice; OR
  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D with at least six months of experience in similar settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular rounds every half-hour to ensure the safety of residents, including random room checks and property inspections.
  • Coordinate and facilitate resident medical appointments, including scheduling, communication, and transportation.
  • Administer medications as necessary.
  • Engage residents in recreational and skill-building activities that promote physical and mental stimulation.
  • Report any unusual incidents, accidents, or medical issues to the Program Manager or designated authority, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
