Position Title: Head Teller

Reports To: Branch Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Grade: NE10

Supervisory Role: Yes


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Head Teller is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role entails adherence to all operational and security protocols of the bank, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations to protect customer information.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist clients with a variety of cash and non-cash transactions, including check cashing, deposits, loan payments, and account inquiries.
  • Manage the cash vault and all cash drawers effectively.
  • Prepare necessary reports such as the unrecovered difference report and maintain accurate records for auditing purposes.
  • Handle the night drop and ensure daily balancing of Automated Teller Machines.
  • Conduct daily balancing of the vault and individual cash drawers, providing support in identifying discrepancies and reporting them as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized counter area in line with bank standards.
  • Safeguard all negotiable and confidential documents daily.
  • Perform regular unannounced audits of the vault and cash drawers, documenting findings and reporting any irregularities promptly.
  • Promote the bank's products and services to foster branch growth.
  • Enhance knowledge of banking principles and sales techniques through ongoing training and education.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience handling cash.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Capable of working effectively in team settings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in the banking sector.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time role. Work hours are aligned with branch operations, which may vary.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional travel may be required.


LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

Must be proficient in the primary language(s) used in the workplace; bilingual skills are advantageous. Ability to interpret and present business information effectively.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employees must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 20 lbs, standing for extended periods, and operating office equipment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is typically an office/retail setting with standard office equipment and conditions.
