Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a robust Environmental Social Governance (ESG) management framework, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and internal policies.
  • Address safety incidents promptly and manage OSHA recordkeeping effectively.
  • Conduct Root Cause Counter Measure (RCCM) analyses to identify and resolve systemic safety challenges.
  • Promote a safe and clean work environment, reinforcing nVent's commitment to safety programs.
  • Collaborate with the ESG steering committee to develop and implement environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Engage with personnel across all levels, utilizing strong planning and judgment skills.
  • Oversee EHS documentation, vendor contracts, and permit management.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and building managers, to ensure project success.
  • Facilitate EHS training to meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Plan and optimize facility layouts to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Prepare bid documents and contracts for construction and facility projects.
  • Assess design costs, including equipment and labor, to ensure budget adherence.
  • Develop performance specifications that align with operational needs and safety regulations.
  • Document corrective actions to prevent system malfunctions and ensure operational integrity.
  • Demonstrate expertise in building systems, including HVAC and pneumatic controls.
  • Exhibit strong troubleshooting skills to address operational challenges.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Optimize plant and floor layouts for improved functionality.
  • Provide support to the Electrical Engineer in programming and maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with other facilities to standardize best practices across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in engineering, environmental safety, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred certification as a Plant Engineer.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in safety and environmental management systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting and prolonged standing.
