SUMMARY:
The Safety and Security Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the premises and ensuring the safety of all individuals on site. This role involves regular inspections of the facility to identify and secure potential entry points against unauthorized access. The Specialist may respond to requests for assistance from staff and provide escorts as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Conduct regular patrols of the facility to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
2. Manage parking and traffic flow while enforcing regulations.
3. Respond to emergencies, including accidents, injuries, and safety hazards.
4. Provide assistance and contact appropriate authorities to maintain safety and order.
5. Guide and escort patients, visitors, and staff throughout the premises.
6. Secure and unlock offices and facilities as required.
7. Handle incoming calls, assess their urgency, and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
8. Investigate disturbances and take charge during emergencies to ensure safety.
9. Prepare reports on incidents, injuries, and vehicle-related issues, maintaining accurate records.
10. Conduct thorough investigations of alleged violations of law and document findings.
11. Adhere to organizational policies and safety standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Preferred six months of experience in a security role.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age to operate company vehicles.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION:
Valid driver's license and security license as required by state regulations.
TRAINING:
Must complete required training programs within the first 60 days of employment, including Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Self Defense.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Understanding of security protocols to protect the facility and its occupants.
2. Proficient in conducting patrols and identifying potential security risks.
3. Ability to interpret safety documents and follow operational procedures.
4. Competence in completing reports and maintaining communication.
5. Effective verbal communication skills for interaction with diverse groups.
6. Strong analytical skills for problem-solving in various situations.
7. Capability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
