Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welding Adjunct Instructor to join our team at Tidewater Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching welding courses to students with a wide range of academic backgrounds and experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in welding courses, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning.
  • Develop and implement assessments to evaluate student learning, including regular feedback and evaluation of student progress.
  • Hold office hours to provide support and guidance to students, and communicate effectively with students through various means.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, and participate in departmental meetings and activities.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Welding or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in Welding with significant industry experience.
  • Five years of current occupational experience in welding, with a strong understanding of welding principles and practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format, and possess sufficient technology skills to work productively in an organization that utilizes significant information and instructional technology resources.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience at the college level, with a proven track record of student success.
  • Knowledge of CANVAS or other learning management systems, and experience with proven teaching strategies that promote student success.
