Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welding Adjunct to join our team at Tidewater Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching welding courses to students with varying academic backgrounds and experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a learning environment that fosters students' acquisition of knowledge and skills in welding.
  • Align course activities with student learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies to promote student engagement.
  • Deliver instruction in support of stated learning outcomes and conduct meaningful assessments of student learning.
  • Hold at least one office hour per week for each credit hour assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably an Associate degree or equivalent in Welding.
  • Five years of current occupational experience in welding.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience at the college level.
  • Knowledge of CANVAS or other learning management systems.
  • Knowledge of proven teaching strategies that promote student success.
