Position Overview

NBME is excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant within our General Accounting division. We seek a proactive and detail-oriented professional eager to enhance their skills while contributing to a collaborative environment. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will play a vital part in various financial processes including month-end closing, financial reporting, invoicing, and special projects.

Work Arrangement

This position is primarily remote, offering flexibility in work arrangements. Candidates are encouraged to choose between remote, hybrid, or onsite work, provided they are located within a reasonable distance from our office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the accurate and timely completion of month-end closing activities, including journal entries related to revenue, payroll, and expense accruals.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and prepare P&L fluctuation analyses as required.
  • Compile and prepare components of the monthly Financial Reporting Package for management review.
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of invoices to clients, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Engage in various special projects, such as budget preparation support, invoice reconciliations, and audit assistance.
  • Provide backup support for general accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners on financial reporting and analytics for various projects.

Qualifications

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with Oracle is a plus.

Experience

  • A minimum of two years in accounting or finance roles.
  • Experience with non-profit tax preparation (Form 990) is advantageous.
  • Background in auditing or financial statement preparation is beneficial.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
