NBME is excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant within the General Accounting division. We seek a proactive and detail-oriented professional eager to learn and contribute both independently and collaboratively. This role will report to the Accounting Manager and involve responsibilities such as month-end closing, financial reporting, invoicing, and various special projects as assigned.
This position is primarily remote, requiring minimal onsite presence. While remote work is the primary option, candidates can choose to work in a hybrid or onsite capacity if preferred. We welcome applications from candidates within a reasonable distance from our office.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate the accurate and timely month-end close by executing various journal entries, including revenue, payroll, and expense accruals.
- Conduct precise balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analyses as required.
- Compile and prepare components of the monthly Financial Reporting Package for review and dissemination.
- Manage the preparation and distribution of manual invoices to clients across multiple business lines, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
- Engage in special projects, including budget preparation support, invoice reconciliations, and audit assistance, while contributing to enhancements in accounting systems and processes.
- Provide backup support for various general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset management.
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners on financial reporting, budget preparation, and ad hoc data requests related to financial performance.
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in computer applications.
- Motivated to learn and take initiative.
- A minimum of two years in general accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with Oracle is advantageous.
- Familiarity with non-profit tax preparation (Form 990) is a plus.
- Experience in auditing or preparing financial statements is beneficial.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business.
