Job Summary

As a Sous Chef at Marriott, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food and exceptional customer service. You will lead a team of cooks and workers, managing food preparation, presentation, and sanitation standards. Your goal is to maintain a consistent and high-quality product, while also developing and implementing new ideas and initiatives to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage kitchen shift operations, ensuring compliance with food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate with kitchen personnel to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and sanitation.
  • Develop and implement new ideas and initiatives to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and motivate a team of cooks and workers, providing guidance, feedback, and coaching to ensure exceptional customer service and high-quality food products.
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards, ensuring compliance with food handling and sanitation regulations.
  • Perform all duties of kitchen managers and employees as necessary, including operating and maintaining department equipment and reporting malfunctions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
Benefits
