Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Processing Technician to join our team at KEDPlasma USA. As a key member of our plasma collection team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing, sampling, and storage of plasma collected from donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)**: Adhere to all regulatory policies and procedures, employee handbook, and remain current on SOP changes.
  • **Attend Team Meetings**: Participate in staff meetings and other team meetings as required.
  • **Provide Excellent Customer Service**: Strive to meet all production goals, ensure all donor questions are answered timely, accurately, and professionally, and alert supervisors of processing flow issues.
  • **Maintain a Clean and Efficient Work Environment**: Ensure sufficient operating supplies are available as needed and maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient work environment.
  • **Follow Health and Safety Protocols**: Follow all Health Safety & Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures.
  • **Prepare Equipment**: Perform PQ/calibrations and verify required maintenance has been performed as outlined in the SOP.
  • **Maintain Data Integrity**: Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information and ensure data integrity.
  • **Aseptic Sampling and Heat Sealing**: Responsible for aseptic sampling and heat sealing of plasma units and timely placement of units/samples into freezer per SOP to ensure product quality.
  • **Labeling and Inventory Management**: Ensure only one plasma unit and samples are properly labeled at a time and performed within the areas of unidirectional flow designated for each task according to SOP.
  • **Inventory Removal**: Responsible for removing plasma inventory during shipments.
  • **Temperature Monitoring**: Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and immediately inform appropriate personnel if equipment is not functioning properly.
  • **Communication**: Answer the telephone and provide information or transfer calls to appropriate personnel as required.
  • **Cross-Training**: May be cross-trained to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements
  • **Education**: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • **Experience**: Previous experience or hobbies that involve manual dexterity are preferred.
Working Conditions
  • **Physical Demands**: Frequently performs work while standing or walking, comfortable being near human blood, and frequently exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear personal protective equipment.
  • **Environmental Conditions**: Must be comfortable performing repetitive duties as outlined in standard operating procedures, frequently exposed to temperatures > 30o C, and may be required to wear personal protective equipment.
  • **Lifting and Pushing**: Frequently required to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • **Schedule**: May be required to work flexible work schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • **Communication**: Required to communicate and interact with employees and donors.
  • **Work Environment**: Works in an environment with no distractions and with minimal human interaction while processing units.
