About the Role:

The Peer Support Specialist will develop meaningful relationships with clients, act as a mentor, and provide support to help them advocate for themselves based on their personal experiences. The ideal candidate will provide an example of what clients can strive for in their recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with clients to provide community-based or home-based face-to-face intervention.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build a supportive community for clients and staff.
  • Assist in creating and implementing social activities to promote a positive environment.
  • Connect clients with community resources, including healthcare, housing, job assistance, and treatment services.
  • Arrange logistics for patient arrivals and departures, including transportation and follow-up appointments.
  • Utilize interventions designed to support recovery goals, such as IPS, SRAP, and WHAM.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience, either personally or professionally.
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle, and automobile insurance.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse services.
  • Ability to build trust and form impactful relationships.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong collaborating skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.
