Electrical Systems Specialist Job Description

As an Electrical Systems Specialist at G&H Towing, you will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems on board vessels and in shipyard facilities. This includes the installation and repair of wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and install electrical systems on board vessels and in shipyard facilities
  • Repair and maintain electrical equipment, including wiring and fixtures
  • Diagnose and repair 3-phase power generation systems, including voltage regulation and load share equipment
  • Follow blueprints and wiring diagrams for conduit installation
  • Strip insulation from wire ends and solder ends to terminals
  • Diagnose and repair 3-phase motors, motor controllers, and power distribution panels
  • Connect power-supply circuits to radio, radar, steering systems, and other electronic equipment
  • Test electrical characteristics, such as voltage, resistance, and phase angle

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical systems installation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
