Job Description:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist for our client located in Florence, KY. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in payroll processing and a passion for accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Review and Verify Timekeeping Records: Review and verify timekeeping records and manage any discrepancies or corrections in the payroll system.
  • Calculate Wages and Deductions: Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, including taxes, garnishments, and benefits.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Prepare and submit payroll reports, including tax filings, W-2s, and 1099s, and assist with year-end processes.
  • Employee Support and Communication: Serve as the point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues related to pay, deductions, taxes, and timekeeping. Educate employees on payroll-related processes, such as timekeeping systems and benefit deductions.
  • Data Management and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files, ensuring confidentiality and data security. Perform regular audits of payroll data to identify and correct errors, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • System Management and Improvement: Utilize payroll software and systems to manage and process payroll efficiently. Assist in the implementation and testing of new payroll systems, upgrades, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance, including FLSA, tax withholding, and wage laws.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Kronos) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
