Paramedic Opportunity in Emergency Department

We are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team in the Emergency Department at Texas Health HEB. As a Paramedic, you will provide safe patient care under physician delegation, administering medications, performing procedures, and documenting patient information in the electronic health record.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications, including IV fluids, antibiotics, and other medications as prescribed by physicians
  • Perform procedures, such as ultrasound-guided peripheral IV access, external defibrillation, and nasal cannula or oxygen mask application
  • Document patient information in the electronic health record, including vital signs, medications, and procedures
  • Provide consistent attention to patient needs, including airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility, and hygiene

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship required; 1 year paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Department preferred
  • EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or LP - Licensed Paramedic
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required; BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required; PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire required
