Job Summary:

As a key member of the Danbury Hospital team, the Administrative Associate will provide exceptional customer service to patients while facilitating patient flow. This role involves performing secretarial and office administrative support functions, ensuring seamless daily operations of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and professional greetings and responses to patients and customers, prioritizing and directing calls as needed.
  • Process patient registration, scheduling, and financial clearance with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to verify benefits and coverage, ensuring proper billing and authorization.
  • Perform a wide range of secretarial tasks, including answering phones, routing mail, record keeping, and written and verbal communication.
  • Manage department inventory and supplies, maintaining a well-stocked and organized workspace.
  • Process payments at point of service according to established guidelines.
  • Create and maintain patient charts, including required documentation, and scan documents into the medical record.
  • Process medical records requests from various sources, including Health Information Management, third-party payers, attorneys, patients, and caregivers.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of the office space under the direction of the Director or Coordinator.
  • Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position, maintaining and modeling Nuvance Health Values.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the team and ensure efficient department operations.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Requires 3+ years of experience providing administrative support.
  • CPR Certification provided by the department.
  • Excellent customer service skills, pleasant, professional, and articulate phone voice.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Experience with medical terminology and previous experience in a medical office setting.
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
