Support Specialist - Housing Options

CHD is seeking a Support Specialist to join our Planning and Implementing Housing Options for Long-term Success (PILOTS) team in Waterbury, CT.

The Support Specialist will work with program participants to address their mental and physical health, substance use, employment, and housing needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with psychiatric disorders or co-occurring populations and possess a strong commitment to the philosophy of the agency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist participants with securing housing, budgeting, and obtaining entitlements
  • Provide crisis intervention and vocational assistance
  • Work with participants to achieve stability and independence
Requirements:
  • Experience working with psychiatric disorders or co-occurring populations
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Reliable vehicle and approved driving record check
  • Approved criminal background check (CORI)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
