Ultimate Staffing is currently seeking a temporary Claims & Appeals Specialist for a dynamic medical office environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage claims from initiation to final resolution
  • Confirm claims status with various insurance providers
  • Prepare and assess claims for both electronic and paper billing resubmissions
  • Handle denial and appeal processes across all insurance payers
  • Rectify billing discrepancies and resubmit claims to insurance companies
  • Analyze remittance advice for payment inaccuracies, denials, and underpayments
  • Maintain professionalism and collaborate effectively with patients, visitors, colleagues, and management

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • High attention to detail with the capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance collections, including the submission and follow-up of claims with commercial, government, or private insurers
  • Ability to interpret and understand EOBs and Claim Adjustment Reason Codes
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding as well as payer medical policies
  • Capability to identify, monitor, and report payer denial trends to management
  • Experience in accounts receivable for commercial, government, and managed care accounts
  • Knowledge of outpatient and hospital billing and collections, including facility billing
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Experience with NextGen is preferred but not mandatory

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
