About the Position:
Ultimate Staffing is currently seeking a temporary Claims & Appeals Specialist for a dynamic medical office environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage claims from initiation to final resolution
- Confirm claims status with various insurance providers
- Prepare and assess claims for both electronic and paper billing resubmissions
- Handle denial and appeal processes across all insurance payers
- Rectify billing discrepancies and resubmit claims to insurance companies
- Analyze remittance advice for payment inaccuracies, denials, and underpayments
- Maintain professionalism and collaborate effectively with patients, visitors, colleagues, and management
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- High attention to detail with the capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance collections, including the submission and follow-up of claims with commercial, government, or private insurers
- Ability to interpret and understand EOBs and Claim Adjustment Reason Codes
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding as well as payer medical policies
- Capability to identify, monitor, and report payer denial trends to management
- Experience in accounts receivable for commercial, government, and managed care accounts
- Knowledge of outpatient and hospital billing and collections, including facility billing
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Experience with NextGen is preferred but not mandatory
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
