Key Responsibilities- Medication Management: Oversee the medication program, including accuracy of medication assistance records (MARs), providing hands-on medication assistance to residents, and monitoring med passes.
- Treatment Administration: Perform treatments according to physician orders, taking blood pressure, pulse, blood sugar, and other vital signs as needed.
- Charting and Communication: Chart relevant information about residents, update and inform physicians of changes in resident condition, and take physician orders, transcribing new orders to medication sheets and charts.
- Activities of Daily Living: Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Reporting and Supervision: Provide report to staff for next shift, assist Resident Care Director with supervisory responsibilities, and assist with training, supervision, and counseling of resident care team.
- Education and Licensure: Must have a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from an accredited program and maintain an active LPN license in good standing throughout employment.
- Experience: One (1) year experience in senior services preferred.
- Certifications: Must have CPR certification upon hire, or obtain during orientation, and maintain current certification during employment.
- Skills and Abilities: Must possess expert knowledge in the field of practice, ability to make independent decisions, and knowledge of nursing practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in an assisted living community.
