Job Title: Assistant Market Manager

Join Brookshire Grocery Company as an Assistant Market Manager and contribute to the success of our retail stores. As a key member of our market team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our meat department, including inventory management, product ordering, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage market operations, including inventory management, product ordering, and customer service.
  • Work closely with upper management to train and develop team members, schedule, plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Support upper management with the review of historical data regarding sales, ads, and promotions.
  • Indirectly responsible for maintaining and improving sales performance, financial results, public relations, product quality, and work standards.
  • Ensure that coolers and freezers are organized according to Company guidelines.
  • Promote product sales through the use of suggestive selling initiatives.
  • Provide friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders by phone and in person.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • High school Diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Food Handler certification required.
  • Manager Food Safety certification required.
Work Environment:
  • Work is generally performed in a retail store.
  • Frequently exposed to extreme cold conditions (non-weather).
  • Frequently exposed to wet, slippery, or damp conditions.
  • Frequently exposed to equipment with sharp blades or edges.
  • Moderate to loud noise level.
