The Lead Procurement Specialist - Mechanical position is pivotal in strategically sourcing direct materials for JJE North America. This role encompasses overseeing the procurement process and ensuring optimal supplier performance. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, a solid technical foundation, and a relentless drive for achievement to foster future career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and enhance the existing North American supplier network by managing metal powertrain components, including finished forgings, castings, stampings, and bearings.
  • Negotiate all commercial aspects with suppliers, such as pricing, tooling, supply agreements, payment conditions, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Oversee sourcing operations by facilitating competitive bidding processes with potential suppliers and advising internal stakeholders on supplier selections.
  • Develop commodity strategies that enhance overall performance and competitiveness across the supply chain.
  • Track market trends for essential raw materials, capitalizing on favorable pricing fluctuations while safeguarding against adverse shifts.
  • Stay informed about global and regional economic factors and trade policies that influence both short- and long-term business strategies.
  • Contribute to the USMCA strategy, value assessment methodologies, and sourcing content objectives.
  • Assist in supplier quality initiatives by collaborating with Quality and Engineering teams to address supplier-related quality issues and manage quality claim discussions.
  • Adhere to the JJENA Code of Ethics, comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, and foster a transparent and equitable environment.
  • Engage in additional related activities as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Field of Study: Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Language Proficiency: Advanced oral and written communication skills; fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years in procurement within the automotive sector.
  • Global Experience: At least 3 years in a multinational company or multicultural settings, particularly in regions like Mexico or China.
  • Familiarity with advanced procurement processes and methodologies in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in managing metal powertrain components such as finished forgings, castings, stampings, and bearings.
  • Extensive knowledge of supplier commercial negotiations, product applications, and legal terms.
  • Understanding of eDrive materials and components is advantageous.
  • Proficient in PC and Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and technical acumen.
