Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician Level B to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of diesel equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and convertor dollies
  • Identify and repair basic failures and conditions on fleet diesel equipment
  • Ensure equipment is roadworthy and compliant with regulatory standards
  • Complete thorough documentation of work orders and repairs through our online Enterprise Asset Management system
  • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers and inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical components
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication
  • Train and provide guidance to other mechanics as needed
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire and wheel, air and air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration experience
  • Preferred certifications in tire and wheel, brakes, AC and/or EPA, DOT inspections, transmissions, engines, ASE Heavy Duty, CDL license, reefer experience
