Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Austin Regional Clinic. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, support clinical staff, and contribute to the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and complete documentation of patient information, including vital signs, medical history, and treatment plans.
  • Assist with medication management, including refills and administration, under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
  • Prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Follow clinic protocols and directions from nursing team leaders or supervisors.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, including EKGs, audiograms, and visual screenings, with accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stocking and maintenance.
  • Review and assist with daily medication refill requests, using the ARC refill protocol.
  • Review EPIC triage call-in baskets for callbacks and respond accordingly.
  • Clean patient rooms, handle dirty laundry, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Assist providers with sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing, setting up equipment, preparing patients, and cleaning and storing equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, including autoclaves, sterilizers, and speculums, and check expiration dates.
  • Adhere to all company policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, compliance, and Code of Conduct.
  • Regular and dependable attendance.
  • Follow core competencies set forth by the Company, available on CMSweb.
  • Work holiday shifts as required by Company policy.
Qualifications

LVN:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas and current AHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card required.
  • Ability to engage others, listen, and adapt response to meet others' needs.
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to perform job duties in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ability to understand, recall, and communicate factual information.
  • Ability to understand, recall, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
  • Ability to apply common sense in performing job.

Staff Medical Assistant:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Required to meet one of the following:
    • Medical Assistant experience, or
    • CNA/EMT/PCT (or other comparable experience) providing direct patient care, beyond Activities of Daily Living, including experience taking manual vitals and giving medications and/or injections, or
    • Graduate of a medical assistant program.
  • Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Ability to administer medications & injections within scope of position within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent phone listening skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
  • Ability to engage others, listen, and adapt response to meet others' needs.
  • Ability to align own actions with those of other team members committed to common goals.
Work Schedule

Tuesday and Wednesday 7:30 - 5:00 and Friday 7:30 - 12:00
