Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Richmond, VA. As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide support and assistance in delivering speech and language therapy services to students.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist to implement therapy plans and interventions designed to address students' speech and language needs.
  • Work directly with students, either individually or in small groups, to facilitate skill development in areas such as articulation, phonology, language comprehension, and social communication.
  • Assist in conducting screenings and assessments to identify students who may require speech and language services.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with educational staff, parents, and other team members to support student success and progress.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field.
  • Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in the state of Virginia.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or therapeutic setting preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
