Job Summary:

General Motors is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Trades Specialist to join our team. As a Mechanical Trades Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical systems and equipment in our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair, and install mechanical systems and equipment, including pumps, motors, generators, and conveyor systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating and cleaning equipment, and performing safety inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical problems, using a variety of tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired.

Requirements:

  • At least six (6) years of experience in a mechanical trade, such as millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, or machine repair.
  • U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in a mechanical trade, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards.
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of weather conditions.
  • May be required to work overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
