Key Responsibilities

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, your role will involve delivering care to patients experiencing acute and chronic respiratory conditions. This includes:

  • Administering various therapy modalities such as Hand-held Nebulizer (HHN), Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV), and Chest Physical Therapy (CPT).
  • Providing medical gas therapy, including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy (HeO2).
  • Managing ventilation therapies, including both non-invasive and invasive techniques, and assisting in the transport of ventilator-dependent patients.
  • Conducting physiological monitoring and diagnostic testing, including ABG puncture and pulmonary function assessments.
  • Performing specialized procedures such as CPR, bronchial lavage, and tracheostomy care.
  • Documenting all patient interactions accurately in the required departmental systems.
  • Serving as a resource for certified respiratory therapists and mentoring new staff and students.
  • Assuming charge therapist responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor.

Qualifications

Education and Licensure Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited respiratory care degree program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification and Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Texas.
  • Additional certifications such as BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS may be required based on location.

Compensation

Hourly pay rate: $40.27
