Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of gym operations to ensure an exceptional member experience as well as a financially successful club.
Key Responsibilities- Staff Management: Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
- Customer Service: Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, and ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
- Operations Support: Assist with staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed.
- Scheduling and Supervision: Assist in scheduling and supervising staff.
- Member Service Oversight: Ensure staff is providing a superior customer experience at all times.
- Employee Issues: Assist in resolving or escalating employee issues or concerns.
- Front Desk Activities: Involved in all front desk-related activities, including:
- Phone and Member Support: Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
- Member Check-in: Check members into the system.
- New Member Sign-up: New member sign-up.
- Tours: Take prospective members on tours.
- Member Requests: Facilitate all member requests, issues, and questions.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Assist in overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
- Supply Ordering: Assist in ordering of supplies using specific budgets based on club requirements.
- Statistics and Reports: Assist in tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).
- Backup Support: Backup support for any employee who is absent.
- Customer Service Skills: Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Experience: Experience working as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness preferred.
- Supervisory Skills: Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
- Physical Demands: Hard working, enthusiastic, and energetic.
- Problem Resolution: Strong problem resolution skills.
- Certifications: Current CPR Certification required.
- Education: High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
- Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
