  • Insurance Verification and Billing: Confirm insurance eligibility and verify active and participating coverage, accurately calculating and collecting patient co-payments, deductibles, and due balances.
  • Scheduling and Reminders: Schedule return appointments and set up reminder notifications to ensure seamless patient flow and minimize no-shows.
  • Customer Service and Confidentiality: Provide professional assistance to doctors, staff, patients, and visitors, maintaining confidentiality of all doctor, staff, and patient information.
  • Reception Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients and staff.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels of retail items, as needed.
  • Phone and Mail Handling: Answer inbound and outbound phone calls with appropriate telephone etiquette, handling sensitive information in a confidential manner, and accepting incoming packages and postal mail.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: One or more years of experience working in a medical practice preferred.
  • Skills: Compassionate and able to establish confidence and trust with patients, ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or stress, highly energetic with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Basic computer knowledge required, experience with NextGen, Microsoft, and Clearwave preferred.
