This role carries the essential responsibility of ensuring adherence to Company, OSHA, State, and Federal regulations and standards.Qualifications | Experience | Skills:
A High School diploma or GED is mandatory. OSHA 30 Certification is essential. Proficiency in interpreting EPA and OSHA standards along with experience in implementing regulatory requirements is required. Training or instructional experience, ideally within a manufacturing context, is preferred. A background of 3-5 years in injection molding is advantageous. Proficient in MS Office and Excel. Must be a motivated self-starter capable of working independently. A valid NC Driver's license is necessary. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities is crucial. Strong understanding of safe work practices, environmental standards, compliance, and best practices is required. Certifications in MESH, AMESH, First Aid, CPR, and AED are necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, facilitate, and support both internal and external safety, environmental, and ISO audits to assess current performance, ensure compliance, and identify hazards or opportunities for enhancement, while tracking the progress of improvement initiatives and implementing corrective actions.
- Assist the environmental and safety manager in the formulation of all safety and environmental protocols and documentation.
- Conduct safety evaluations on all new or transferred equipment prior to operational use.
- Develop and uphold Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensuring they are displayed and accessible on Kiosks. Review and validate required annual LOTO procedures.
- Facilitate or assist in accident investigations alongside Managers, Supervisors, and Staffing Agencies.
- Maintain the Safety Team and First Responder rosters, notifying managers of any vacancies or needs.
- Organize and deliver training for First Responders in AED, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, and First Aid.
- Conduct Technimark Safety Observations as necessary.
- Coordinate employee activities such as safety meetings, safety events, and cleanup initiatives.
- Conduct or assist in the investigation, coordination, cleanup, and documentation of environmental spills.
- Schedule, conduct, or assist with, and document all mandatory safety, environmental, and ISO inspections and testing, including cranes, rigging equipment, sprinkler systems, stormwater discharge, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, waste disposal, hazardous waste, recycling, hearing tests, and refrigerants.
- Maintain HAZCOM, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), environmental, ISO, and safety information and records for all facilities.
- Monitor and maintain data for all waste products, including hazardous wastes, landfill disposals, water, and natural gas usage, to ensure compliance with current and future regulatory and ISO requirements.
- Oversee waste disposal products and devise actions from this system to explore potential recycling methods to minimize waste generation.
- Schedule and facilitate all waste pickups.
