Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator will be instrumental in implementing and maintaining safety programs, conducting training sessions, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures at job sites and within the fabrication facility.
- Conduct thorough site safety evaluations and document findings.
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation sessions focused on safety practices.
- Provide live training for designated personnel on critical safety topics such as Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, and Excavation Safety.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety programs and policies across all operations.
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents to determine root causes.
- Promote a culture of safety through effective coaching and mentorship.
- Be present during high-risk operations to ensure safety measures are followed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in construction safety management for large-scale projects is preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 5 years of safety-related experience.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and Cal-OSHA regulations.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- OSHA 500 Certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain it within six months.
- First Aid and CPR certification is required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills with the Company Loss Control Team.
