About the Role

The City of Corona, CA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Talent Officer to join its dynamic Executive Team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for leading the Human Resources Department and overseeing all HR programs, services, and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic HR plans to support the City's goals and objectives.
  • Manage and direct HR personnel, including recruitment, selection, training, and development.
  • Oversee the development and administration of the department's budget, including forecasting and managing resources.
  • Contribute to the overall quality of the department's service by developing, reviewing, and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Represent the City as chief negotiator and direct staff in negotiations during meet-and-confer sessions with various employee organizations.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in human resources management, public personnel administration.
  • Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in human resources management, contract administration, and strategic planning and budget practices, including five (5) years of management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in human resources management or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
  • Experience working in a municipal or public sector organization.
