Resident Care Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Resident Care Supervisor to join our team at Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community. As a key member of our overnight shift team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our residents, while also demonstrating positive leadership and oversight of each shift.
Key Responsibilities- Respect and maintain resident rights and confidentiality
- Listen and respond to residents' requests promptly and cheerfully
- Assist in providing for the social, emotional, and cultural needs of residents
- Lead each shift in a respectful manner and according to company policies and procedures
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Medication Technician and of a Resident Care Assistant
- Monitor residents' needs and make appropriate referrals to outside service providers
- Assist in providing a cheerful and homelike environment
- Monitor the work performance of the RCA's, HHA's, and PCA's to ensure residents receive the assistance they require
- Communicate clearly and thoroughly with staff members and residents
- Communicate with residents' families and responsible persons in a timely and professional manner
- Demonstrate skills to build relationships with residents that are warm, positive, caring, and supportive
- Relate professionally to staff from regulatory agencies
- Complete and review all written documentation prior to leaving the shift
- Participate in required in-services education and other meetings deemed necessary
- Report any staff or resident issues using documentation systems
- Maintain daily time card recording
- Perform all other duties as directed by the Resident Care Director
- Ability to communicate with residents and others in the English language
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. without mechanical assistance
- Ability to visually observe residents
- Ability to audibly hear call bells, emergency systems, and verbal needs expressed by residents
- Ability to turn, stoop, bend, and stretch to assist residents
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, including evacuation of residents and visitors in the event of fire
- Ability to push medication cart down hallway without assistance
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- HS diploma or GED preferred; CNA, HHA, or PCA certification preferred
- Must be dependable, hardworking, and willing to work as part of a team
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Respects and maintains resident rights and confidentiality
- Must be First Aid certified (DePaul will provide training)
- Must pass the Health Evaluation exam/tests performed at the time of hire and yearly thereafter
- Must be approved by the NYS Criminal History Background Check (CHRC) unit and meet company employment criteria
Well-lit, air-conditioned/heated environment; may be exposed to residents with communicable diseases or confused residents who become combative. May be required to work outside on occasion when required by resident care needs.
