Position Summary:
DePaul Senior Living Community is seeking a dedicated full-time Overnight Resident Care Coordinator.

The Overnight Resident Care Coordinator exemplifies effective leadership and supervision during each shift, ensuring the delivery of both routine and urgent care services to residents.

The compensation for this role is competitive at $18.30 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold and respect the rights and confidentiality of residents.
  • Promptly and cheerfully address residents' requests, catering to their social, emotional, and cultural needs.
  • Lead each shift with respect, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Fulfill the duties of a Medication Technician and a Resident Care Assistant as outlined in their respective job descriptions.
  • Assess residents' needs and make appropriate referrals to external service providers, following DePaul's established policies.
  • Foster a warm and welcoming environment for residents.
  • Oversee the performance of Resident Care Assistants, Home Health Aides, and Personal Care Assistants to ensure residents receive timely assistance without feeling rushed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members on shift and those coming on duty regarding resident and community matters.
  • Maintain professional communication with residents' families and responsible parties.
  • Build and nurture positive, caring relationships with residents.
  • Engage professionally with staff from regulatory agencies.
  • Complete and review all necessary documentation before the end of the shift.
  • Participate in a minimum of twelve (12) hours of in-service education annually and attend other necessary training sessions.
  • Report any staff or resident concerns promptly, utilizing the documentation systems as outlined in the DePaul staff handbook.
  • Accurately maintain daily time records as per the handbook guidelines.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Resident Care Director.

  • Exhibit warmth, understanding, and responsiveness to residents and their needs.
  • Demonstrate patience and tact with families and visitors.
  • Utilize initiative, judgment, and resourcefulness to lead shifts effectively.
  • Treat all staff, residents, and families with respect at all times.

Essential Skills:
  • Proficient communication skills in English.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
  • Adept at visually observing residents.
  • Ability to hear call bells and verbal requests from residents.
  • Physical capability to assist residents, including bending, stretching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, including resident evacuations.
  • Competence in pushing a medication cart down hallways independently.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred; CNA, HHA, or PCA certification is advantageous.
  • Dependable, hardworking, and a team player.
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining resident rights and confidentiality.
  • First Aid certification required (training provided by DePaul).
  • Successful completion of health evaluations at hire and annually thereafter.
  • Approval from the NYS Criminal History Background Check (CHRC) unit and compliance with company employment standards.

Work Environment:
Comfortable, well-lit, and climate-controlled setting; potential exposure to residents with communicable diseases or those exhibiting challenging behaviors.

Occasional outdoor work may be necessary to meet resident care needs.
