Job Summary

Wayfinder Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Supervisor to oversee the implementation and program management of the Family Preservation Program. This role will supervise In-Home Outreach Counselors who provide intensive, in-home support to at-risk families in Los Angeles County.

The primary goal of this position is to prevent child abuse and neglect by addressing issues that place children at risk of out-of-home placement. This role is crucial in leading a team in promoting family stability and ensuring the well-being of children within their homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Family Preservation Program Director to integrate the values of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) into all aspects of the organization.
  • Promote the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by identifying quality indicators and opportunities for departmental and organizational process improvement.
  • Report any incidents/accidents according to incident reporting procedures and protocols within designated timelines as outlined in the reporting procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the Family Preservation Program's policies and procedures.
  • Oversee staff supervision of the Family Preservation program within the Pomona and Vermont Corridor Service Area offices in San Dimas and LA Campus, respectively.
  • Stay informed about best practices in family preservation and child welfare.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of quarterly and annual program audits.
  • Facilitate internal and external communication with vendors, agencies/organizations, and community partners.
  • Ensure all documents are uploaded to the appropriate record and redacted as needed to ensure compliance with agency standards pertaining to protected health information.
  • Be available on-call to program staff by phone, may be required to go out into the field.
  • Manage and maintain other records in accordance to set policies and procedures.
  • Ensure sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent client information.
  • Perform other duties as may become necessary or as directed.
Requirements
  • A master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Must possess licensure in a mental health discipline, as recognized by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, such as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in social services or child welfare, with at least two years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Experience in family preservation or related programs is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently, with a broad range of delegated responsibilities.
  • Good grammar, diction, and ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
