Compensation: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour

- Assess students using appropriate tests to determine their visual functioning and educational needs.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals based on assessments and child development principles.
- Create a supportive learning environment.
- Provide direct instruction in specialized skills, including braille, orientation and mobility, and other essential techniques.
- Support student integration into mainstream educational settings.
- Teach students to articulate their disabilities effectively.

- Collaborate with regular classroom teachers to enhance curriculum activities aligned with student objectives.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

- Strong organizational skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification within six months of employment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Valid California driver's license and insurability.
- Ability to build cooperative relationships with staff and the community.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Clear background checks and health clearances.
- Experience with children with visual impairments.
- Familiarity with severe disabilities.
- Teaching experience in general education settings.
- Proficiency in sign language.
- Bilingual capabilities.
Work Environment:
