Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Donor Engagement to join our team at the NIU Foundation. As a key member of our advancement team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive donor engagement strategy that fosters strong relationships with alumni, donors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a donor engagement plan that aligns with the College of Business's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, donors, and stakeholders through regular communication, events, and outreach initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the College of Business's philanthropic goals.
  • Provide strategic input and execution for all alumni and donor relations activities, including stewardship programs and donor recognition events.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of programs designed to support the philanthropic endeavors of the College of Business.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrates proven three (3) to five (5) years of experience with successful donor or alumni relations management.
  • Willingness and ability to travel; some evenings and weekends required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships anchored in trust and integrity.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and familiarity with appropriate foundation fund-raising tools.
