About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer to join our team at General Motors. As an Environmental Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing environmental compliance programs and reducing environmental risk across our site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive consistent environmental stewardship programs
  • Engage with local regulatory agencies
  • Develop creative solutions to complex environmental challenges
  • Utilize technology and information to develop and maintain environmental management systems
  • Monitor environmental parameters and progress to provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Support and improve system designs that preserve the environment, integrate the latest technologies, and provide long-term environmental solutions
  • Grow to understand the plant manufacturing systems including production processes, wastewater discharges, storm water management, air emissions impacts, sewer systems, chemical usage, and waste management/recycling programs, to ensure effective decision-making and regulatory compliance
  • Interface with business partners and regulatory agencies to prepare required regulatory documentation and reports, schedule and perform compliance testing
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in engineering or related sciences field
  • 2+ years' experience in Air Permitting, Storm Water Permitting, and/or Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements
  • Experience in environmental engineering or related science, preferably at a manufacturing operation
  • Basic knowledge of the automotive manufacturing processes is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to execute projects
