LinQuest is seeking a highly skilled Systems Safety Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge space communication systems for the Air Force Military Satellite Communications program.
This role requires a strong background in systems engineering and safety principles, with experience in evaluating and mitigating risks associated with space systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate ESOH risks identified by government stakeholders, contractors, or other parties, and prepare ESOH documents to support Space Flight Worthiness certification.
- Document, perform, and execute changes to Government System Safety documents, ensuring compliance with MSEIT Program and Space Force guidance.
- Review and participate in government evaluations of contractor documentation, including hazard analyses, mitigation strategies, and safety assessments.
- Perform safety risk assessments in accordance with MSEIT Program and Space Force guidance, and prepare safety risk assessments for acceptance or further mitigation.
- Prepare documents, including Programmatic Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE) and Space Debris Assessment Report/End of Life Plan for space vehicles.
- Support the System Safety elements of the space vehicle Space Flight Worthiness certification, collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Space Force.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science.
- 4+ years' experience in systems engineering, with 1+ years' experience in Systems Safety engineering.
- Ability to coordinate with numerous stakeholders and customers, with strong interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required for the position.
- MS degree in a technical field.
- Certifications in Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP).
- Knowledge and experience in Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, and FAB-T terminal programs.
- Experience working with military and DoD civilian clients.
- Active Secret Clearance or higher.
