Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

Komatsu is a leading provider of innovative solutions for the construction, mining, forestry, forklift, and industrial machinery markets. We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our global IT team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement, configure, maintain, and optimize critical SQL Server systems in on-premise, Azure IaaS, and PaaS environments.
  • Ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to design and implement database solutions that ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance.
  • Configure Azure Data Factory, including monitoring and optimizing ETL workflows for pipelines, and transitioning SSIS packages to Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Follow change management process for all production changes.
  • Participate in on-call rotation if needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as a database administrator with SQL Server 2016 and newer.
  • Experience using native and 3rd party monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Proficient in performance tuning for MS SQL Server, with expertise in ensuring data integrity, managing data retention, conducting data analysis, optimizing data input/output processes, and enhancing SQL code performance efficiency.
  • Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
  • Experience with Replication, Clustering, Always On, and other HA architectures.
  • Experience in configuring Azure Data Factory, including monitoring and optimizing ETL workflows of pipelines, and adept at migrating SSIS packages to ADF.
  • Understanding of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), as well as Azure Synapse and Data Lake.
  • Understanding of DevOps workflow deployment processes, including releases and stages of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficient in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory.
  • Adept at independent work planning and organization, while also collaborating effectively with other teams.
  • Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
